Admission Modalities and Procedure

The admission modalities are with reference to the four-year full-time B.Tech. Program of the Icfai Institute of Science and Technology (IcfaiTech).

Selection to the B.Tech. Program is highly competitive. The goal of the Admissions Committee is to select applicants whose academic background and intellectual capabilities meet the demands of the program and promise a successful career.

Intelligent, ethical, articulate and active individuals are encouraged to pursue this program. The Admissions Committee evaluates applicants in terms of their potential to be future engineers and to succeed in and profit from the B.Tech. Program.

Eligibility Criteria

Students securing 60% and above aggregate at 10+2 examination or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects, are eligible. Final-year students awaiting examinations and results may also apply.

All applicants who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) on or before September 1, 2008, failing which such provisional admission will stand cancelled.

Applicant should fulfill the minimum age requirements as prescribed by the respective board through which the applicant has appeared for the qualifying examination.

If an applicant is found ineligible for whatever reason after admission into the program, his/her admission will be cancelled. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts against the original certificates/documents of the students. The decision of the Admissions Committee regarding eligibility of any applicant shall be final.

Admission Procedure for candidates appearing ATIT 2008

Admission to the B.Tech. Program is through ATIT 2008 conducted by IcfaiTech.

ATIT 2008 is scheduled on May 4, 2008 (Sunday) from 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM. Applicants are required to report at 9.00 AM at the test center on the day of ATIT 2008.

ATIT constitutes objective type questions in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in multiple choice format. The answers have to be marked in the specially designed OMR answer sheet, which will be provided at the time of the admission test. There will be 60 questions in each of the three subjects, as per the syllabus.

All applicants are advised to adhere to the last dates prescribed for the submission of the OMR Application Form so that necessary arrangements can be made in advance for conducting ATIT 2008.

Choice of IcfaiTech Campus & Branch of Engineering

ATIT 2008: Applicants appearing for ATIT 2008 need to indicate/mark their twelve Campus and Branch preferences mandatorily in the OMR Application Form, which will be provided to them.

Results for ATIT 2008

Results will be announced on the website www.icfaitech.org/atit at 8 PM (IST) on May 17, 2008. Successful applicants will also be intimated individually through mail/post.

Admission Procedure for candidates applying based on AIEEE 2008

Students may also be admitted to the program based on their all India Rank in AIEEE 2008 (All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2008) which is being conducted by the CBSE on 27 April, 2008.

Candidates applying for admission on the basis of AIEEE 2008 are not required to write ATIT 2008.They are offered admission into all branches at IcfaiTech, Dehradun. However, they may also seek admission into IcfaiTech Campuses other than IcfaiTech, Dehradun. Candidates may also appear both ATIT 2008 and AIEEE 2008, inorder to enhance the chance of getting preferred IcfaiTech Campus and Branch.

All candidates seeking admission based on AIEEE scores should indicate their AIEEE application number in the OMR Application Form. They also have to submit the attested photocopy of the scorecard on or before June 7, 2008. Please note that the selection of the candidates will be withheld incase of non-receipt of the AIEEE score card before the due date.

Choice of IcfaiTech Campus & Branch of Engineering

All candidates seeking admission into IcfaiTech, Dehradun have to indicate at least four Branch preferences at IcfaiTech, Dehradun mandatorily in the OMR Application Form for ATIT 2008.

Alternatively, they may also seek admission into IcfaiTech Campuses other than Dehradun. In such case, they have to indicate twelve Campus and Branch preferences mandatorily.

Past Academic Record

While evaluating applicants for admission to the B.Tech. Program, due consideration is given to applicants' past academic achievements, apart from marks/CGPA secured, various academic achievements, and honors obtained by applicants.

Submission of OMR Application Form

Applicants are required to complete the OMR Application Form and send it to the Admissions Officer, through speed post or courier, at the following address:

The last date for receiving the completed OMR application forms at the above address is April 21, 2008. The OMR Application Forms received after April 21, 2008 may not be considered.

Application available on Website

Applicants interested in applying for the admission test for the B.Tech. Program can avail any one of the following registration facilities available through the web:

  1. Fill and submit the application form available at www.icfaitech.org/atit online, making a payment of Rs. 600 towards registration fee using credit card (Visa/MasterCard/Citibank Card) through the secure internet payment gateway.

  2. Download the application form, complete it, and send it to The Admissions Officer, CPAD, 45 Nagarjuna Hills, Punjagutta, Hyderabad 500 082 along with a demand draft for Rs. 600 towards registration fee (drawn in favor of "The Icfai University Common Fund A/C IcfaiTech" payable at Hyderabad).

Last date for receiving the duly filled in application form is April 21, 2008.

Online Admit Card (For ATIT 2008 only)

All applicants who have submitted their filled-in application forms for ATIT 2008 have to download online admit cards progressively from April 14, 2008 onwards using the application number and date of birth as user name and password respectively. The online admit card will carry the photo, name, address, and roll number of the applicant, the test date and timings, and details of the test center. No hard copies of admit cards will be sent by post.

The admit card is not transferable to any other person and is valid only for the test centers for which it is issued. Impersonation is a punishable offence under law.

Test Centers (For ATIT 2008 only)

The applicants can choose any one of the 92 test centers available for ATIT. The list of all the test centers is provided in this application material. Please note that requests for change of test center will not be entertained under any circumstances. In the event of not enough seats not being available at the allotted test center, applicants will be allotted the nearest alternative center, under intimation to them through email. CPAD® may add a few more test centers apart from the test centers given in this application material depending upon the number of applicants appearing for ATIT 2008 from that center. The same will be intimated on the website www.icfaitech.org/atit for the benefit of applicants.

Allotment of Campus/ Branch

All the applicants are advised to mark their preferences carefully. The allotment of campus and branch is based on the candidate's performance in ATIT 2008/AIEEE 2008 and the order of preferences indicated in the OMR application form.

Applicants will be intimated about IcfaiTech campus and the branch allotted to them through selection letters from May 22, 2008 onwards. Please note that the minimum number of 15 students are required for a particular branch to be offered at each campus.

Submission of Attested Photocopies of Certificates

All successful applicants will have to submit attested photocopies of relevant certificates (Class X and Class XII mark sheets, birth certificate and completion certificate of the qualifying examination from the respective board) on July 31, 2008 at the respective IcfaiTech Campuses along with the original certificates. The original certificates will be returned to applicants within a week's time after due verification.

For final year (10+2) students: Final-year students of (10+2) who have not received the original certificates from the board by July 31, will have to submit these along with a set of photocopies on or before September 1, 2008. Their admissions will be confirmed only on receipt of the original certificates, and will be subject to their obtaining 60% or above aggregate in the qualifying examination.

E-Mail

All applicants are mandatorily required to indicate their E-mail ID, as all important information relating to ATIT 2008 will be intimated to the applicants by E-mail.

Similarly all applicants are required to send their letters/ correspondence by E-mail only, to: atit@icfaitech.org.

Registration and Reporting date for Semester I

All students selected for the 4-year B.Tech. Program of IcfaiTech are required to report for Semester I on July 31, 2008 at respective IcfaiTech campuses.

  

 Strict Prohibition on Canvassing/Recommendations

All admissions are based strictly on merit There is no NRI quota or management quota or any other quota. Hence, students and parents are strongly advised not to resort to any canvassing, directly or indirectly, to support their applications. Canvassing in any form is strictly prohibited and will be considered as a serious disqualification.
